I think you've got to be careful when sand-blasting old chassis and tubs. We
put some parts into a local sandblaster and they'd just had a TVR chassis come
through. When they'd done they had to call the owner and ask him to bring a
paper bag to take it home in. Not only did he need a new chassis, but he had to
pay for the old one to be blasted
Of course the chassis was useless anyway, but it's not a nice way to find out.
A tub's going to be stronger, but I'd be very careful of panels coming out
looking like lacework
It's probably more of a problem here - nice humid atmosphere, salt on the roads
and 40 years of rust on all 60's cars - but wherever you live I'd be careful
