Jim,

Here's my offering http://www.movecars.com/toc/find/index.htm#overseas

Work through this list and have a couple discussions with different shippers to
get a feel for the mechanics of it all. You will need exact vehicle dimensions
and weight to get a proper quote.

Be sure to request info on ALL costs involved. getting it to port in NZ,
processing, cleaning (car must be pretty much spotless including underbody), US
entry fees, broker fees, etc.

In the end, I think you will be surprised. It is less than you think. My final
quote on a Rover P5 from England was about $1200, ready to pick up in New York.

For a sample of shipping schedules, try Wallenius at http://www.wlna.com/

The whole process will require patience, persistence and some overseas calls. In
my experience, the only way to get comfortable with the process is to have
discussions with people at both ends to solidify details.
