I have been slowly rebuilding the engine for my TR3, and have found a
problem with the timing chain tensioner.
The tensioner rides against the face of the engine mointing plate, and
has worn a deep groove into it's surface. First of all, is this typical?
I have no idea how many total miles that this engine has seen. I assume
the proper way to repair this is to fill it either with brazing rod
using a torch, or steel using an arc welder, and then grind it down
flush. Does anyone have other suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike
