As do the electric car advocates. However, hybrid cars are the answer for
city driving because: A they reduce pollution where it is the highest. B
energy usage is smoothed out due to the recovery of energy lost while braking.

During steady state highway operation fuel usage would not be any better that
a regular car. ( possibly worse due to the extra weight )

A all electric car would only be"green" if it was recharged by solar, wind or
hydroelectric.

Harold

Who is currently fixing up a 1975 Sebring-Vangard Citicar. The cars were
scratch built in Florida from ~ 73 to 81. ( Think golf cart with a
windshield wiper ;+) It does have some Brit car parts. The turnsignal
switch is a Lucas unit and some later cars had what looks like Jag E type
front turnsignals. A electric car with Lucas parts? Yikes!
