Jerry-
By installing the direct oil line to the head, you have changed the oil
pressure on the top end of the motor. ISTR two freeze plugs in the rear of
the cylinder head that may be the source of the leak. The valve cover
gaskets are notorious for leaking oil, especially with an increase of oil
flow to the rocker arm area. My recomendation is to spray the entire area
down with a brake cleaner solvent, clean it up, and take it for a drive to
see where offending leak is coming from. I had installed an external oil
line on my TR6 years ago, it increased oil consumption considerably due to
worn valve guides. I have since rebuilt the motor and found some wear on the
rocker shaft toward the front. The motor had 96,000 miles on it when I
rebuilt it, given the high mileage I did not consider the shaft to have
excessive wear. I have not reinstalled the oil line; and IMHO don't consider
it to be necessary unless your oil pressure is low or you are auto-crossing
or racing the car.
Good luck-
