Hello listers and Happy New Year,
I had decided to replace the silent bloc bushings and fulcrum pins in the tie
rods as part of this winter's maintenance. Easier said than done.
The metal part (outer sleeve) of the bush wants to stay in each end of the
center tie rod and apparently I will need to press them out. The pin and
rubber bush has been removed. I removed the center tie rod from the vehicle.
Any suggestions on how to remove these sleeves? Will heat help?
Since I've gone this far as to remove the center tie rod, would it make sense
to replace the inner and outer tie rod end assemblies? They seem to be fine,
but as I said, since I've gone this far .... Anything else recommended?
Its the standard cam and peg set up.
