I was 16 and a Jr in high school when I fell in love with a "well-used" 58
TR3A. That was 1972 and I bought it from a close friend (DPO, but didn't know
it at the time). It was BRG with wires, a hardtop, towel seat covers, and lots
of rust. Couldn't drive in NJ till you were 17 so it saw a lot of my parents
driveway, back and forth, back and forth, etc. (never seemed to get too tired
of that though)
After high school needed to "have some fun for a year" and moved to Ft
Lauderdale and left the car neatly parked in the turnaround under the big crab
apple tree in my parent's turnaround. Upon returning home (before serious
school, this was ok to do in the 70s guys) I found the car was gone. My
parents had given some guy ($&#*^%&) $150.00 to tow it out of there yard,
hardtop et al. Oh well, so it goes.....still have a few nice photos
