Bob, mine consists of a length of 3/4" threaded rod (about 15" as I recall),
(3) 3/4" nuts, a regular 3/4" flat washer, and a great big flat washer
(which ISTR is actually the generator pulley half from a VW beetle). The
pulley half is drilled to slip over the shock studs. The bottom of the
threaded rod is double-nutted, I turn it with an impact wrench while holding
the single nut at the top with a box end. A ratchet would work just as
well, but I'm lazy <g>

I've had my TR3A front end apart and back together 3 or 4 times with this
tool, it works well and seems to be holding up OK. I do oil the working
threads, and they do show a bit of wear since this is ordinary 'soft'
threaded rod and grade 3 nuts. I may eventually have to replace the
threaded rod and upper nut, but hopefully the Nylatron bushings will cut way
down on my frequency of suspension work.

Having used other types of spring compressors on non-LBCs, I am very pleased
with how secure this setup turns out.

Randall
