Funny thing about Burlen's web site ... if you search for AUC 878 they don't
exist either !
A quick scan of a printed manual I have turned up AUD 475 on a 1971 Rover
2000 ECE (whatever that means). And sure enough, Burlen lists them if you
search by application.
These are HS6 carbs, similar to those used on late TR4As, which were a
definite improvement over the H6 design in terms of longevity, leaks and air
flow. I'd suggest working with them, if you can (and if originality is not
an issue). Fitting TR4A needles and springs may help ... the jets and the
little ring that sets the float chamber angle seem to be different as well.
Apparently the Rover had the carbs horizontal, while the TR4A has them
tilted up.
