Crane/Allison installation note :

Since I just spent 1/2 hour finding and fixing this problem on my Stag, I
thought I'd repeat the information for anyone who might be planning to
install one of these aftermarket ignitions (or trying to figure out what is
wrong with their existing unit).

There is a 3-pin Molex connector on the pickup lead, that is supplied
disassembled to make it easier to thread the wires through any existing
hole/grommet on the dizzy. When assembling the pins into the connector
housing, be sure that they snap into place and will resist a firm pull back
out of the housing. There are two little 'wings' on each pin that lock it
into the housing, and these sometimes don't stick out far enough. If that
is the case, pull the pin out and use a sharp tool like an X-acto knife (I
used my pocket knife) to spread the wings a bit farther. You can see a
drawing of the pin, that shows the wings, by going to www.molex.com and
searching for P/N 1190.

If the pins are too damaged to snap into place (eg the wings are broken
off), buy a suitable connector at Radio Shack (or any electronics supply)
and use the pins that come with it. Do not just stuff the pins into place
and expect them to stay there ! If you do, sooner or later they will back
out enough to not make good contact ...
