Sorry to jump in on this thread late but the conversation got me thinking. My recently acquired 72 TR6 has the emission system partially removed. Canister is still present with a line running to the tank. But the vacuum line from the rear carb goes to the temp. switch and then to dist. I've been having trouble reaching a smooth idle and wondered if I'm better off restoring the emission control to original config. Or should I possible bypass the temp. switch completely and run the vacuum line direct from carb to dist. Any thoughts?
