The dirty little secret is that normally you don't need to do anything to
the speedometer when adding overdrive. The speedo drive is after the OD
gearing.
The exception to this is that the speedo drive ratio was changed during TR6
production, so if you're installing a late OD in an early car or vice versa,
you need a speedo head of the same vintage. Matters not if it's from an OD
car or not.
I'm not sure about recalibrating the head, but for $100 you can get a "ratio
adapter" that will fix any ratio problems (smaller tires, different diff
ratio, etc).
