I have no particular knowledge of TR6 cars, but that's where you stick the
jack in the TR4.

Try this:  Yank out the rubber plug.  Reach into the hole, and feel towards
the door of the car.  If a TR6 is anything like a TR4, you will find the
chassis frame.  On the frame is a sort of bracket.  The hook on the stock
jack engages this bracket to raise the car.
