The little Herald passed NJ inspection today with no problem. After an aborted
attempt two weeks ago, (due to very low idle issues) I ran her through, and
passed on emissions, with the following result:
HC- 1259/1400 allowed, CO% 6.07/8.50 allowed, CO2% 8.8, O2% 4.9 at
971RPM(about 150 high, but idling smoothly.) She is probably still a little
rich, but- hey! She passed! All other issues were new, so I had no worries
there.
Now I am trying to come up with a name for the little car. I am actually
thinking about "Sophia", after Italian actress Sophia Loren, as she is "An
Italian design with graceful lines, timeless beauty, and a great set of
headlights. She also is quite talented, and can be driven all day once fired up
properly." :)
I also have "Gina" after Gina Lolobrigeda under consideration.
In other news, for the first time in at least 25 years that I'm aware of, she
has her proper commission number (as it appears on her plate) on her title. The
"L" had been misread as a "1", and the title printed as such. Correction was as
simple as taking a tracing, along with the incorrect title and registration,
and a certification slip filled out by the owner, down to the Motor Vehicle
Agency, and paying them $25.00 for the correction.(Which they screwed up the
first time- they added the "L" after the incorrect "1"! Second time a charm,
eh?)
