TR6--No Dash Lights, Hot Rheostat

folks,
i could use your help....all exterior lights working. blinkers okay, courtesy
light fine.
red ignition button comes on and hi-beam blue button as well.
i have no lights on any of my dash gauges. this is the red wire w/white stripe
that
powers them.
rheostat VERY hot to the touch....all else works fine. any thoughts? thanks,
