| I just completed rebuilding my carburettors (3365) on my '71 TR6, and
could use some assistance... I can't seem to dial them in. I'm sure than
I'm missing something (like when you've missing your eyeglasses, and
they're on your head).
I read the various books (Bentley, Hanyes, etc) and accessed the many
excellent wonderful knowledge bases (e.g., Buckeye Triumph. VTR, et al.).
I serviced both units, replacing most every gasket and bushing, check
metering needles, cleaned and rebuild to spec...
still encountered a few problems.
I can't seem to balance the Air Fflow between the two carbs.
Engine warm, throttle linkage and choke cables disconnected, 'slow idle'
screw at 1.5 turns (900 rpm) with the cold start/fast idle off. When I
place the Unisyn gauge on the front carb, it stalls. Only when I increase
up to 3,500 rpms does that plastic float move only half way up the tube
(by-the-way, should the float be a round ball or "cup" shaped?).
Manuals/tech notes state that the mixture is too rich...
when I adjust to be leaner, still no improvement...
the float does not want to move!
Is this normal?
Took the car fro a drive...
she runs, but doesn't like to go fast (feels rough), and sputters when I
turn it off.
Any advice would be appreciated.
