Based on my oil pressure hose install this afternoon, it appears that in my case
at least, "pressure is pressure" as Phil said. I didn't bleed the oil pressure
line. I haven't taken it out yet to test any gauge behavior aside from startup
and a short time in the drive to ensure the oil stayed in the engine though, so
I
can't say if it's showing the same pressure as before. If it's not, I'll
certainly post something.
AFA Jerry's low rpm gauge vibration, in the two years I've driven the car I've
noticed some vibration in the oil pressure gauge which seems to be when it's
good
and hot *and* a quart low. This isn't a wild quivering but a gentle tremor, and
I
just treat the quiver as my "check oil" indicator on long trips.
