For all of you who had to put up with either deleting or reading about my
starter woes of last weekend; for those whose advice helped me solve that
problem, and for those who remember the exhilaration of the first drive in a
car that you built yourself - I took my TR3A for its shake-down cruise this
evening. I calculated that it was almost exactly 39 years between "first
drives" in a TR3, and I was overwhelmed by how thrilling it is.
I christened her Betty Lou. Almost went with Peggy Sue (as tribute to Buddy
Holly), but my ex-wife's mother was such a sweet person (she's now in an
Alzheimer's care center), and I know how much she would have liked the "cute
little car", that I went with the her name (Elizabeth Louise) in the
shortened (a la '50's) form.
Now, I turn my attention to the Mk2....

PS: Randall - was busy tinkering with the carbs and stuff today. The silly
lights still don't work, but the mis-grounded ignition light burns
brightly:-)
