Well, no, mostly because I wanted an analog indication. A PDWA would
probably work for a "idiot light", assuming it's operation differential is
lower than the filter bypass valve, and that you can replace the seals with
ones appropriate to engine oil.

Of course my comment was meant as a joke, but the Ford Powerstroke Diesel
trucks come with deltaP indicators on the air filters so your Idea isn't
off base. I'm sure you can find differential pressure gauges somewhere
(McMaster? Grainger?) but I'll bet a far cheaper way to go is two oil
pressure gauges and a little math.
BTW, guaranteed the deltaP will vary greatly with oil temp.
