Way back when, I was told to use methanol for this. Seemed to work well,
the only time I tried it. Of course, then you have to be sure to flush out
all the methanol ...
I was able to buy pure methanol at the drugstore, by asking the pharmacist
for it and telling him what I wanted it for.
