I don't know anything about TR6s, but I would imagine that you could
spend a lot of time pulling an indicator switch apart and repairing it,
whereas a replacement one would not be terribly expensive (I've seen
several Triumph indicator switches on eBay recently, but I don't recall
whether any were the ones fitted to the TR6). As a rough guide, TRGB
sell the indicator switches for Spitfires (158966) at GBP27.95, and
therefore a second-hand one in good working order would be about half
that or less. I don't suppose that a TR6 switch would be a whole lot
more expensive (it might even be the same part!).
