In the VB catalog, the pre-'74 camshaft (new) is listed
at $349, the '74 and later camshaft (new) is listed at
$249, and the '74 & later remanufactured is $299.
I called and asked why the new cam is cheaper than the
reman. cam, the salesperson had to get a supervisor,
and they left me on the phone on hold for quite a
while.
When they cam back, they said the price for the new '74
cam is wrong, it should be $349 like the pre-'74 cam,
but that they will honor the price. They said they
never noticed the pricing error and nobody ever asked
them before about it (to their credit, they are
surprisingly honest about the matter).
So, I got $100 off the price of a new cam today. They
will be fixing the price, but if you need a '74 and
later TR6 cam, now is the time to order from VB.
