I recall that some early Land Rover Defenders had trouble with a
too-close and too-flexible radiator fan which was mounted on the
front of the radiator. When driving through deep water the fan could
be pushed into the radiator, with disastrous consequences. Some
owners simply disconnected or tied off the fan during deep or
protracted water crossings. I suppose that's a case for rear mounted
fans. Otherwise, watch those stream crossings, Phil.
Which reminds me, what is the correct location for a snorkel on
my early TR4? Or was location up to local dealers? <g>
