Hi Bill & Dave

A bit late , but AFAIK these rubbers are the same as used on early Spitfire
( Mk 1 - Mk 3 ) boot lids . Don't know who actually might have some in stock
, but talk to the suppliers of early Spitfire parts . Not many of them
around though .

I have the same problem and haven't resolved it yet. My rubbers
appeared about 3/8 inch thick and had a round groove down the center where
the rod rested. Mine were rotten and sort of biodegrading.
I have been thinking of making new ones out of rubber scraps that we
have from conveyor belts at work. I am hoping that there is a better way.
I wrote TRF to see if they had any idea, but John Swauger wrote back
and said that they didn't.
Let me know if you find out anything.

Subject: Looking for source of rubber on TR3 boot lid support cross members

I have a later boot lid on my 3A that has 4 round support cross members
underneath that intersect for stability/rigidity (I guess). Between these
cross members and the lid, there were 4 pieces of hard (back then) rubber
about 1" wide x 4"" long and about a 1/2" deep. Has anyone replaced these
lately and know a source for them. Been to all the home centers/auto stores,
etc., big 3 don't stock, and can't seem to locate on my "vintage parts
favorite sites." TIA
