Randall,
I went through all the checks available in the manuals. Generator puts out
better than 15v ... the battery after numerous starts >12.v volts ...
lights, fogs, wipers, etc on, the battery stays over 12v whether engine
running or off. But the red indicator continues to stay on. One thing I
noticed that was strange IMO was the cut out never appeared to engage on its
own, and only when I manually engaged it did the indicator go off, however at
the same time the annemeter read -15 . All the checks on the voltage
regulator and cut out otherwise appear to be in order. Other than the fact
the red indicator stays on, and the cut out doesn't automatically engage the
system appears the be charging and the battery holding a charge. Very weird.
Control box suspect? Any thoughts?
Best Regards,
Ed
