Bob,

Not sure how a TR3 is. I made a tool to prime the oil pump on my TR6. Here's
what I did: The shaft from the distributor drive gear that drives the oil
pump is 1/2" diameter with a slot in the end that engages the oil pump. I
bought 3/8" steel rod at the hardware and cut a piece about 18" long. I
drilled a hole about the diameter of the required slot near the end. Then
cut down to the hole with a hacksaw to make a slot. Just before starting up,
I'll use my reversable drill to turn the oil pump until I get oil at the
rocker shaft. Would have used 1/2" or 7/16 rod, but it wouldn't fit my
drill.

For the list, I have a similar question. Is there anything special to do
with spark timing, carbs, etc. to ensure a smooth startup? I want it to
start and run quickly and smoothly so that everything gets lubricated ASAP.

Thanks,
Hugh
