Regional Triumphants:
As a CTR and TRAC member, I wanted to support the clubs, and so Camellia and
I, my neighbor Rick (past GT6 owner) went, but not accord with original
plan.

As you know, Sunday was a terrible heavy rainy day. By agreement with CTR's
President, as my Baby Blue Metallic TR4 has made the show twice I registered
my Jensen Interceptor Convert to add a little 'variety' to the show.

With the severe weather, I cancelled taking the Jensen Interceptor (Safe &
dry in the workshop) and Camellia cancelled taking her XJ12 Coupe to the
Capital Triumph Register's 5th Annual Britain on the Green at Woodlawn
(George Washington's Mt. Vernon Complex) 67 miles away.

WE instead took the '96 XJR 4.0 Supercharged Saloon, which stayed glued to
the very very wet road (Michelin 255/45/17 Pilot XGTZR Tires) like a Jaguar
should. Understandably, the turnout was about 40 cars not the usual 140.
Ironically, the car won "Jaguar Saloon 1st in Class", but honestly there
were only 4 Sedans (a 2001 XJ8, a '94 XJ40 and a '87 XJ6). Some folks
commented on the triple Black, a few on the Supercharged in-line 6-now out
of production.

The field was pretty soaking wet, and most of the areas people gathered
were pretty muddy. The XJR even got mud splashed on the rockers for and aft
trying to get on the field.Given the weather A good turnout of Mini's (4),
a Bentley and a Rolls, an old Jag 140 FHC, and one Stag made it. The rest
were MGs and TR's, with one beautiful Austin Healey 4 cyl.

Due to the weather and accidents at I-295 (BW PKWY) and NY ave, we detoured
back to I-95 to find a 7 car pile up at I-95 and Rt 450. It took us 2 1/2
hours to make the usual 50 minute trip from Columbia.

After 2 PM the weather cleared ( An MGA showed for a moment & decided not to
try to enter the field- quite wise). After 2PM , the weather was nice for a
few hours before the TRW and Tornadic spree hit Central MD. The trip home
only took an hour and 10 minutes.
