Since no one else mentioned this ... even with the stock mechanical pump,
you can add a solenoid valve hidden under the car or in the trunk that will
cut off fuel flow unless power is applied to it. The cheapest source of
such valves new are the ones sold for dual fuel tank installations ... cap
off the unused port(s).
No comment on electric pump mounting, except that if noise is a problem, I'd
look for some sort of soft mount. You could fab something similar to the
TR2/3 wiper motor mount, or most speed shops sell made up soft mounts that
look kind of like miniature motor mounts.
