>I have a 74 TR6 PI, which currently has an ageing tube shock conversion. I
am thinking of converting it back to the old lever arms, since I'm
concerned
with the way the conversion puts load on the inside of the wing where it is
mounted. Any comments? What are the pros and cons of the two set ups?

The factory designed the lever shock setup and they weren't no dummies.

Question: is your tube conversion the type that is attached only to the
inner wings or the type with the three brackets that eventually transfer
the force to the original lever shock mount? I have heard bad things about
the former putting stress on the coachwork that was not considered in the
car's design. And if there is some onset of the tinworm the additional
force could aggrevate the situation.

I had the latter and the main problem with this setup is the 16 odd holes
that mush be drilled in the body. I eventually removed mine because my
body is tweeked (not straight) and the RH mount rubbed the tyre. The LH
mount did not so I know that the body was not straight and the conversion
wouldn't work for me for that reason. I switched back to the levers (heavy
duty) but I liked the way the Koni's worked better.

Cheers
