I have just replaced the sump gasket in my TR3A. It had been leaking a bit
also. I found that it was slightly bent and nicked in one corner, which I
managed to hammer out. In replacing the gasket I used a standard type
silicone gasket sealer, about a 1/8" bead all around, and surrounding the
holes. I put this on both sides of the gasket. Then tightened the nuts
working diagonally. This, I beleive, is a relatively standard routine. If it
continues to leak I guess it would be time for a new sump, or just consider
that the TR is like my dog and likes to mark its spot. Won't be starting it
for a while yet since I still have other things going. Let you know if it
leaks at a later date.
Best Regards,
Ed ('58 TR3A)
