As its basically the same engine as found in a Fergie, 'Daisy's' head
was difficult to budge due to earlier coolant and crud seepage around
the rear head studs from a defective head gasket. I made a plate to
fit the valve gear mounts and then positioned the tractor under a rope
pulley set up hanging from a roof beam. Progressive tensioning, lots
of WD40 and strategic taps with a heavy hammer against a piece of wood
and it came free very quickly with no damage to related parts.
