Nope, sorry, those things are pretty much useless now. Better pack
them up and ship them off to me. ;)
Seriously - I have an A-type OD unit for a TR3 that had the same
problem, namely it was missing most of the pump parts. There are a
few minor differences from one revision of A-type to another, like a
different size ball bearing in one place (not used as a bearing, but
rather as an oil passage stopper), but the parts are largely
interchangeable AFAIK.
In my own quest for A-type parts, I accumulated a list of people
knowledgeable about A-types, some (maybe all) of whom also sell
parts, rebuilds, etc. I'm pasting the list in below. My own
dealings were with Charlie Vincent, and I was quite pleased - he
patiently answered my questions and drew up a list of exactly what I
needed, then sold me good used parts at a reasonable price.
I've also heard good things about all the other sources, though I
personally was not able to elicit a response from ORS over e-mail.
Also see Nelson Riedel's excellent online guide to overdrive repair
and refurbishing at http://www.buckeyetriumphs.org/ (look under
Technical). (Thanks Nelson!!)
