If you mean "from" not "front" and "or" instead of "of" then I think I have
decoded your message :^). I ran mine from the inside, thru the firewall to the
engine as there is less to push thru the passenger side/right side hole that
way.
If the fit is very tight and you want to avoid snagging the cloth wrapping cut a
rectangle of plastic -- say 4" x 6" -- from a gallon milk bottle, form it into a
loose cylinder and fit it half-way into the firewall hole. It (the cylinder)
can
then be spread a bit on one in to accept the wiring and will provide a smooth
surface for the wiring to slide thru. Once that lump (branch for voltage
regulator) is thru then you can pull the plastic out and off. I did not fit the
grommets to the firewall hole until after the wiring was thru.

Randall's explanation is, of course, correct -- but note that there are two
large
firewall holes next to the fuse block. I believe you want to use only the upper
one with the lower one receiving a blanking plug. Someone please speak up if
this is not correct. Note all comments pertain to a pre-60001 car.
