Hi all

I have recently (November) purchased a 1963 Spitfire 4, after a break in
owning Triumphs of 15 years (marriage does that to you!). The little beast
has had a pile of non-Spitfire bits put into it over the years (mostly
Herald) and while I don't want to take it all the way up to concours
standard, I would like to get it back into reasonable shape.

My initial question concerns the instruments. The current fit has a
speedometer and a combined fuel, battery and temperature guage (one is a
Jaeger and the other a Smiths). The instrument panel itself is a home made
wooden affair. Can anyone tell me what guages should go into the "Mk 1" and
in what arrangement. I have been trying to find a picture of an early
Spitfire dash but can't find one clear enough to see what make the guages
are and what the specific layout should be.

Merry Christmas to all on the list from Brisbane, Australia. I have been
reading your postings with great interest - I only wish it had been around
15-20 years ago when I had my TR3, TR4A and Mk 3 Spitfire (not all at the
same time!).
