Thread-topic: Hot street setup
Hello all-

One of my winter projects is to give my TR-4 0-60 times under 5 seconds,
primarily through putting weber DCOE 40s, tubular headers, a hot cam, and the
factory optional rocket assisted takeoff package. (just kidding about the
0-60 time and the rockets...im aiming for "slightly faster than a dodge
caravan that is in full racing trim (8 seats ripped out, nothing in
cupholders)"

I have the Weber carbs and the headers already lined up...

2 questions-
-Anyone in list land have the weber intake manifolds and linkages (new or
used) they want to sell? I have the webers (from ebay) but dont have the
other part of the kit (but I got the pair of webers for $150 in good
condition, so I was psyched). Anywhere I can get manifold/linkages for
cheaper than Pierce manifolds?

-Hot street cams- The thing has to be able to idle, but I dont mind if its at
1,200 RPM rather than 600...I also am trying not to spend $250 on teh
cam...cams I have looked at are-
-BPNW has a "hot street" cam
-LarryTheRedBaron@aol.com (who I got in touch with via ebay where he
sells
reground cams...#599346162...he has what he calls an "M36" grind (hot street
with webers)- he describes it like this: "advance-290, duration-.450, lift 1.5
rocker ratio, clearance-int. .018 ex. .020. This is called a street cam. It is
the easiest cam to install, it works fine with no other changes and improves
with changes to other engine parts. You get more power and a fair idle" (he
wants $95 for it)
I dont know much about cams- has anyone dealt with Larrythebaron? positive or
negative? What do people think about those cam numbers? the BPNW cam?
Thanks all
Noah "caravan leaver in the dust" Freeman
