Listers,
I have a problem with the rubber hanger that holds up the rear of my TR4's
exhaust. It recently broke and I fitted a correct TR4 hanger, but as my
exhaust pipe is a larger diameter than standard this caused the exhaust to
rattle against the chassis. I fitted a smaller non-standard rubber hanger,
but there is still some slight rattling at times.
So my question is; should I fit a smaller rubber hanger, or should I make
myself a (smaller) metal hanger? I am keen on the metal one because it
wont't break as easily as the rubber one did, but I am not sure that the
metal will allow enough natural movement in the exhaust. Is this a problem
or not?
Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.
TIA,
Michael
