I know the subject of the windshield rubber trim has been discussed ad
nauseum and that it is a universal PIA. My question has to do with the shape
of the trim piece and why it's shaped the way it is. It's sort of a "T" with
the visible rounded top. Why? I mean why does this vertical "stem" jut down
into a space that's wider than it. It seems to do nothing but keep the cross
piece from setting in. Is there a minuscule split in the bottom of the inside
of the groove that it goes into. I've looked in with an 8X magnifier and see
nothing. If the base of the "T" weren't there, wouldn't the trim fit snugly
inside instead of being held up on the "stem"?
And, ultimately, can someone give me the process again. I can get the piece
in. It just doesn't stay there.
Thanks.
Jim
