I just did the same on my '74 tr6. I bought grade 5 bolts from an Ace
hardware and drilled the safety wire holes my self. If you have access to a
drill press it's pretty easy. Tighten two bolts together on the end of the
bolt. Drill through one of the nuts using the flat as a place to start. You
may be able to do it with a hand drill but I'm not that steady. I also found
that the holes on the coupling didn't line up very well and had to use a
C-clamp to squish the coupling a little bit.
Good luck

Attempted to replace the flexible rubber joint this afternoon.
The new coupling from TRF is not exactly the same as the original.
The original ==>Two of the bolts have inset allen heads; the other 2 are
regular hex head bolds.
The new coupling uses 4 regular hex head bolts. Now I have to order new
bolts.
Does anyone know if these bolts can be had from a hardware store or do I
have
to order special? They have holes drilled for "safety" wire.
Any thoughts?
