Unfortunately, lots of them do it, although most are not upfront enough to
put a notice on the front page about the problem.  IMO the real issue is the
use of Javascript, which has just never delivered the "platform
independence" that it promised.  I'm told (by those who should know) that
it's almost impossible to write a non-trivial Java application that works
the same with both Netscape and IE, without essentially writing two of them,
one for each platform.  Then of course, it won't work with Sun's browser ...

On top of which, I normally run with Java disabled (both because IMO it
represents a large security hole, with the potential for malicious sites to
infect your PC with a virus, and because I hate all the bandwidth-wasting
"song and dance" it usually creates).  Because of that, Mini-Mania's site
will not work for me with either browser.

Seems that most graphic designers (and the marketing people that listen to
them) lose sight of what the customer wants.  I'd never buy from someone
because they had a flashy ad or web site, although I might because their web
site made it easy to find and order what I want.
