garage/shop is littered with magnifying lenses of varying sizes and

I'm currently in the market for some safety glasses (preferably the
wrap-around type) with +1 or +1.5 diopter lenses. Anyone have a
recommendation of a source for some not-too-expensive ones ?

Try Walgreen's. They will have reading glasses of varying strength from .5
to 2.0 diopters or so.
I don't have that problem since I am already -3 diopters in my left eye and
-5 in the right. All I have to do is pop out a contact lense and I can
read anything. Of course I will then probably mistake a wandering
proselytizer for the mailman and accedently take something from him. <G>
