Powdercoating will definitely work, and is quite tough and long lasting
(although it is possible to chip it).
Don't know about anodizing magnesium, but I wouldn't think it would
work. Aluminum oxide is ruby, while magnesium oxide is the pricipal
ingredient in milk of magnesia ...
Are you sure your wheels are pure magnesium, and not a magnesium alloy ?
