Friends
Just to let you know the 2001 Cathedrals Run leaves BMIHT Gaydon this
coming Saturday at 11.30am, returning at about lunchtime on Sunday.
It's an 800 mile charity dash restricted only to Standards and
Triumphs. This year we have sixteen cars taking part.
It's a bit too late to sign up but if you live anywhere near where we
are travelling and are likely to be about, we'd be pleased to give you
a wave or toot as we paas. Route and approx arrival times are as
follows:

Gaydon (11.30), Tewkesbury (12.50), Gloucester (13.15), Minsterworth
(13.30 lunch break at The Apple Tree) Newland 14.50 (Forest of Dean)
Tintern Abbey (15.20), St Davids (18.15 Dinner stop at St. Nons hotel)
Chester (01.00), Knutsford Services (M6 southbound ETA 02.00),
Beverley Minster (05.30), Humber Bridge, Sleaford (07.00 Little Chef
for breakfast) Peterborough (09.40), Derby (11.15), Lichfield (11.50),
Gaydon (13.00).

The Dean and Chapter of Rochester Cathedral in Kent (a participant in
a TR6) is on good terms with his oppo at Lichfield Cathedral and the
old boys network is apparantly working overtime to persuade the Bishop
of Lichfield to stand everyone a round of coffee and bikkys for the
last port of call at Lichfield and to bring the whole field together
to complete the last fifty miles in convoy back to BMIHT.

Recognising this post is probably global in terms of its recipients,
apologies for 'bombing' those in other lands. My only regret our
common interest in these cars can't be shared with (almost) everyone
being physically able to take part. We'll be thinking of you as we
pass, even if you're tucked up in beddybyes as we pass. Listen for the
familiar beat of Triumph exhausts in your dreams.

FWIW, next year will not see a Cathedrals Run because its the turn of
the Round Britain. Next Run will be in 2003 and probably over 48 hours
instead of 24 to enable us to do a flying visit to Belgium and France,
hopefully joining up with some Triumph clubs in the process.
