| I, too, had a severe problem with squealing front brakes on my TR6. It
got very loud and embarrassing. Upon several inspections, everything
looked fine in the front brakes and I even tried replacing the pads. Still
squealed loudly. Finally, I ordered the "anti-squeal" shims from TRF and
installed them along with a little bit of "anti-squeal" goop that the
local auto parts store sells (you spread a little of this goop on the BACK
of the pads when installing). The result was no more squeal. Quiet
braking. Later, a guy at an automotive shop explained to me that the
squeal had something to do with a rapid frequency vibration in the pads
when a certain amount of pressure was applied. The anti-squeal shims and
the anti-squeal goop are supposed to dampen and eliminate those pad
vibrations that cause the squeal. All I know is that it worked.

Subject: EBC 'Green Stuff" brake pads for TR6
Hi,
Does anybody have any experience with EBC front disc brake pads "Green
Stuff, [Kevlar, $59/set]" for the TR6? Also, should I look at getting a
slotted rotor if I buy these, (something about "out gassing" of the pad
and
heat dissipation)? I'm trying to solve a brake squeal problem for my daily
driver and they look like they might be a solution. Found them on
www.openroadint.com. TIA
