Hi Shane,
I had that problem once, after I installed a electronic ignition system with
a 60kv coil. I went to adjust the carbs by using a Gunsen Colortune and
forgot to put a plug wire back on after I was done. It started and arc'd
through the rotor. Electric takes the path of least resistance. Are you
using different wires or something? If all else fails, try a coil that puts
out less volts.
