The funniest thing I heard once was from an older gentleman at a show, who
had obviously brought Triumph Saloons whenever a new model was introduced.
He absolutely loved the Mk 1 model and couldn't wait for the Mk 2 to come
out. When he did, he told me he hated it, simply because the nagivator (aka.
wife) COULD see the speedometer and was now able to see how deceptively fast
the Triumphs (with overdrive and a nice purring six) could be. The speedo in
the Mk 1 is recessed quite deeply, while that on the Mk 2 is there for all
to see...

He apparently went back to a Mk1 as soon as he could find a nice second-hand
example...
