and are available for around $140 ($134.95 in the '99 price list) :

562224 Red

Yes, you could probably make something from thin plywood or Masonite.
(Check in the back at Home Depot, I frequently find Masonite panels with
damaged corners for just a buck or two.) There is a bend of around
60-80 degrees near the top of the tank, which you could probably create
with several small angle brackets bent to the right angle. But, the
original metal (at the bend) panel made a smoother curve, the difference
might be noticeable. An expert wood bender might be able to duplicate
the bend with plywood, but I sure couldn't.
