I'd say that if it was polycarbonite, you probably could not have cracked it
this way.  This stuff scratches easily, but is darn near impossible to
break.  I run the stuff through a table saw and it does not crack.

Maybe this stiff is Plexiglas (acrylic), or for our British friends, Perspex
(sp?)
