Although the official letter has not been sent, I don't believe I am talking
out-of-turn when I tell you that the Minnesota Triumphs have voted to offer
to host the 2002 VTR convention. The vote was taken at an open membership
meeting
and is not the result of secret proceedings.
We have discussed several locations and we have narrowed it to two locations,
both of which have offered us some very attractive facilities. I think I might
be stepping over the line if I name them yet. I will say that both of them
are in Minnesota, some distance southeast of the Twin Cities, on the
Mississippi
River.
I was not a member of the local chapter when I joined VTR to attend the 1998
convention in Hudson Wisconsin. I thoroughly enjoyed that event, mostly thanks
to the Solstads and Bruce Batterson, who generously shared their cars with me.
If VTR accepts our offer to host in 2002, I expect to be involved rather more
completely than in 1998. Sue and I have a TR4 now, and we are members of
Minnesota
Triumphs.
Phil (hope I haven't said too much) Ethier
