Rich,
It does sound like the rear mount, the universal hits the side of the
transmission tunnel because the rear of the trans is not being held in
place. Get under the car with a pry bar and see if you can lift the rear of
the transmission and see daylight where the rubber of the mount is supposed
to be. You could probably use a jack, but that might have a tendancy to
overdue it and wreck the mount if it wasn't already. These mounts have a
tendancy to go because they get a constant stream of oil sprayed on them
from less than tight seals, etc. To replace it, you will have to remove the
transmission tunnel and work both from underneath and from inside the car.
