Hi everyone,

You may recall that my last generator died recently and I contemplated an
alternator upgrade. Well I decided that I wanted to enter my car in this
year's concours and I felt that I should acccordingly give a generator one
more try.

Anyway, I installed a reconditioned generator and had my regulator checked
and properly adjusted. It now charges well, but I was driving the other day
and tried to execute a U-turn whilst talking on my mobile phone. I let the
revs drop too far (but didn't stall) and when I got going at speed again the
ammeter was showing a rapid discharge (all the way to the right, i.e. -30)
it then settled to about -10 and continued like that for the next few
minutes. At that stage I arrived at my desination. Some hours later when I
re-started the car it was charging fine.

Any ideas on what happend and why my system was discharging?

As always your suggestions are very much appreciated.

Regards,
Michael Gajic
